Were they a co-worker? If so, this all might fall within the confines of a Texas work accident. Or, were they just someone along for the ride—a friend, family member, or other individual not on the job? If so, they may have the same rights as someone would if they were in a completely separate vehicle hit by the 18-wheeler.
Either way, this highlights why a single-vehicle truck wreck like this isn’t automatically open-and-shut or simple. There could be unique challenges to prepare for, and authorities alone may not be taking those steps.
