Mitchell County, TX — November 25, 2025, a man sustained injuries as the result of an 18-wheeler accident at around 9:30 p.m. along Interstate 20.

Initial details about the accident say that the crash took place off westbound lanes of the interstate, about halfway between Colorado City and Big Spring.

According to officials, a 59-year-old man was in an International semi-trailer going westbound along I-20. The truck somehow left its lane, and it crashed, overturning in the process. Due to the accident, the truck driver reportedly had serious injuries.

There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Additional details about the accident are unavailable.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Single-vehicle accidents can be challenging enough, given that they’re rarely a high priority for police departments. Combining that with the inherent complexity of a commercial truck wreck is only bound to make things more complex.

A lot of delicate factors need attention from experienced investigators in commercial truck wrecks. If a crash is left up to people who don’t have the right tools or haven’t handled many truck wrecks before, important information might slip through the cracks. Hopefully this crash is in the hands of more experienced accident reconstructionists who can avoid jumping to conclusions and simply let the evidence speak for itself.
