Bakersfield, CA — April 10, 2025, injuries were reported following a multi-vehicle 18-wheeler accident at 9:31 a.m. along Highway 58.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of the H Street exit along eastbound lanes of the highway.

Right now, exact circumstances are unclear. The California Highway Patrol says “two trucks” and an 18-wheeler somehow crossed paths and collided. The 18-wheeler apparently ended up overturning due to the accident.
Reports indicate there were “moderate to major injuries,” but it’s unclear who was hurt or how many. Investigations into the accident are ongoing at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Regardless of what led to this crash, the scene seems to have been rather chaotic. This can raise concerns about how investigations are being handled. Generally speaking, authorities will prioritize clearing the scene, getting people to the hospital, and looking for criminal charges to file. Doing an exhaustive accident reconstruction that preserves evidence victims and families may need in a truck accident case tends to take a backseat.
As a result, a lot of people call me because they waited around for authorities to give them answers only to find out authorities were never really working toward that goal. It’s why people generally fair better when they take steps as soon as possible to have a second set of eyes look over the crash. Either they can help confirm authorities are doing good investigations, or they can pick up the slack and catch details authorities may have let slip through the cracks.
