The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Has Investigated Valero Corner Store 39 Times
The 7-Eleven fuel brand was created on January 1, 1980, as a spin-off of Coastal States Gas Corperation. Valero took over the natural gas operations of the LoVaca Gathering Company and others to begin refining operations in 1984. After various mergers and acquisitions, Valero became a huge national brand of gas stations and convenience stores. The Valero brand of convenience stores was separated from the refinery operations and eventually the Corner Store brand was acquired by Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., a Canadian multinational company with revenue of $37.9 billion.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission conducted 39 investigations into allegations of improper service or handling of alcohol since the start of 2013.
Simply because an Valero Corner Store location was investigated, it does not mean that they are a location that displays a pattern of violating TABC code. Conversely, if a location has been investigated and investigators determine that they are not in violation of TABC code, that does not mean that the alleged violation did not take place. At times, sufficient evidence required to prove that either criminal or administrative violations occurred is hard to come by, thus, hard to corroborate. We are simply reporting the locations that were put on the TABC's radar for one reason or another by concerned citizens and law enforcement agencies.
San Antonio - 333 San Pedro Avenue
Allegation:
On 05/22/2013, a private citizen alleged that this location had sold alcohol to an already intoxicated person.
After several weeks, TABC investigators closed the investigation on 6/9/2013 with no further action taken.
San Antonio - 8214 Culebra Road
Allegation:
It was alleged by a member of the community on 7/3/2013 that this location had sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
TABC officials closed their investigation on 7/31/2013, determining that there was not sufficient evidence available to back up the claim made.
Austin - 10713 Jollyville Road
Allegation:
This location was alleged to have sold alcohol to a minor by a law enforcement agency on 8/6/2013. They were then referred to the TABC for investigation.
On 8/16/2013 it was determined that there had indeed been alcohol served to a minor and the location was found to have committed an administrative violation.
Houston - 9096 Jones Road
Allegation:
On 10/30/2013, a customer alleged that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
On 12/22/2013, the investigation was closed with no further action taken.
San Antonio - 2001 Broadway St
Allegation:
On 12/31/2013, it was alleged that a patron left the restaurant with a drink from the restaurant, which is illegal in Texas.
TABC investigators closed the case on 01/23/2014 with no further action taken.
Houston - 57802 Westheimer Road
Allegation:
On 05/14/2014, it was alleged that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
TABC investigators closed the case on 5/22/2014 with administrative violations found.
Houston - 5121 N Shepherd
Allegation:
On 5/14/2014, it was alleged by a law enforcement agency that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
On 6/19/2014, investigators determined that there indeed were two violations of selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
Houston - 5838 Westheimer
Allegation:
On 05/14/2014, a law enforcement agency alleged that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
TABC investigators found that this location was guilty of administrative violations and closed the investigation on 5/27/2014.
San Antonio - 2001 Broadway
Allegation:
On 6/12/2014, it was alleged by a member of the community that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
Then, on the 4th of July, the case was closed with no further taken.
San Antonio - 333 San Pedro Avenue
Allegation:
A law enforcement agency alleged on 6/22/2014 that this location had failed to report an aggravated breach of the peace.
TABC officials found enough evidence to corroborate the claims made by law enforcement and issued a written warning on 7/4/2014.
Round Rock - 1900 S Mays Street
Allegation:
On 8/12/2014, it was alleged by a law enforcement agency that this location had sold alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
Later on 9/30/2014, the investigation was closed with no further action taken.
San Antonio - 2001 Broadway
Allegation:
On 9/24/2014, it was alleged that this location had sold alcohol to a minor by a member of the San Antonio community.
TABC officials closed the investigation on 10/21/2014, taking no further action in this matter.
Houston - 926 Westheimer Rd
Allegation:
This location was alleged to have sold alcohol to someone under the age of 21 on 11/3/2014.
On 12/3/2014, this Corner Store location was issued a written warning and the case was closed.
Fort Worth - 4150 Bryant Irvin Road
Allegation:
On 11/17/2014, it was alleged by a private citizen that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
The case was closed by TABC officials with no further action taken on 12/11/2014.
San Antonio - 1231 Probandt
Allegation:
It was alleged on 1/21/2015 that this location had sold alcohol to an intoxicated person.
It was found by investigators that a minor was sold alcohol and both criminal and administrative violations were found on 2/4/2015.
San Antonio - 2001 Broadway
Allegation:
It was alleged that this location sold alcohol to an intoxicated person on 3/25/2015.
On 4/11/2015, the case was closed with no further action taken.
San Antonio - 1802 W Market St
Allegation:
It was alleged on 6/23/2015 that this location had failed to report a breach of the peace or a physical altercation. The allegations came from a local law enforcement agency.
TABC officials issued a civil penalty of $900.00 and closed the case on 7/16/2015 after finding enough evidence to corroborate the allegation made by the law enforcement agency.
San Antonio - 333 San Pedro Avenue
Allegation:
A member of the San Antonio community alleged that an intoxicated person was sold alcohol on 11/4/2015.
On 11/19/2015, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
Rockport - 1328 Ih 35 South
Allegation:
It was alleged by a member of the Rockport community that this location had sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
On 5/11/2016, the case was closed with no further action taken against this store.
Surfside Beach - 91 Fort Velasco Dr
Allegation:
It was alleged on 7/22/2016 that this location had sold alcohol to a minor.
On 8/25/2016, that there was no further action necessary because there wasn't enough evidence to corroborate the allegation.
Houston - 911 Studewood Street
Allegation:
It was alleged by a private citizen that this location had sold alcohol to a minor on 8/22/2016.
On 10/11/2011, the TABC investigators closed the case with no further action taken.
Austin - 6306 E Riverside
Allegation:
A private citizen alleged that this location had sold alcohol to an intoxicated person on 08/26/2016.
TABC officials closed the investigation 9/30/2016 after failing to find evidence to support the accusation.
San Antonio - 5494 Babcock
Allegation:
A member of the San Antonio community alleged that a minor was sold alcohol by this establishment on 10/12/2016.
On 10/26/2016, the case was closed on 10/26/2016 with no further action taken.
Houston - 901 Bunker Hill
Allegation:
On 12/7/2016, it was alleged a minor was sold alcohol.
On 1/4/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
San Antonio - 1901 S New Braunfels
Allegation:
A member of the San Antonio community alleged that a person was allowed to drink beer off premise on 2/21/2017.
On 3/25/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
Houston - 901 Bunker Hill
Allegation:
On 2/27/2017, it was alleged that this location sold alcohol to a person under the age of the 21.
On 4/27/2017, the case was closed by TABC detectives after finding a lack of evidence to support the allegations.
Houston - 8111 W Tidwell
Allegation:
On 4/4/2017 it was alleged that this location had failed to verify that a patron was of age before selling them alcohol.
The case was closed on 6/1/2017 and no further action was taken.
San Antonio - 12511 Loop 410 Southwest
Allegation:
On 4/4/2017, a member of the community alleged that this location had sold alcohol to an intoxicated person.
TABC investigators decided to close the case on 5/31/2017 with no further action taken.
San Antonio - 1115 San Pedro Avenue
Allegation:
A member of the San Antonio community alleged that an intoxicated person was sold alcohol on 6/6/2017.
On 6/14/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
San Antonio - 8005 FM78
Allegation:
It was alleged that this location had allowed a patron to consume alcohol off premises on 6/8/2017.
On 7/28/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
Austin - 4602 E Stassney Lane
Allegation:
On 6/22/2017, this location was alleged to have reported a brach of the peace, or an altercation of some kind related to alcohol.
On 7/31/2017, the TABC investigators found that an administrative violation had occurred and a civil penalty was levied.
San Antonio - 8214 Culebra Road
Allegation:
On 8/9/2017, member of the San Antonio community alleged that this location had allowed the possession and sale of narcotics on its property.
On 8/25/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
Dallas - 4421 Maple Ave
Allegation:
A Dallas concerned citizen alleged that there had been a possession or use of drugs at this location on 8/25/2017.
On 09/28/2017, the case was closed with no further action taken by the TABC.
