Accident Report
April 13, 2026, a woman was injured as the result of a truck accident that happened just after 10:00 a.m. along Route 33.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at the intersection of Franklin Street and Twin Rivers Drive.
It appears that a 21-year-old woman was in a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek on westbound Route 33. At the intersection, officials say the Subaru crashed into the back of a Kenworth semi-truck which reported was moving forward “before the traffic signal turned green.” This impact reportedly caused the Subaru to catch fire.
The woman in the Subaru reportedly may have suffered a severe head injury and was airlifted from the scene. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
This is an important question to answer, and that answer could be anything from distracted driving to unsafe speeds to worn brakes or tires. But there are a lot more questions that come to my head, and I wonder if anyone else has the same ones. What exactly was this truck doing prior to the impact? Was this a high-speed impact? How did the Subaru catch fire? Did the victim’s seatbelt and airbag perform as expected? And another important question is: Are investigators asking any of these questions?
Hopefully this crash is being taken seriously and not simply being written off just because the victim rear-ended someone. There could be unusual factors at work that need to be brought to light.
