How Did This Accident Occur?

Many people will be tempted to blame the victim in this case for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s understandable, considering how little is publicly known about how this accident occurred, including what Mr. Jackson was doing on foot on a major highway. I’ve analyzed hundreds of pedestrian-involved car accidents over the years, though. I hope authorities are being a meticulous and openminded as they should be as they look for answers.

It wasn’t in news reports, but what if he was in the roadway because he had been in a previous car accident and was just trying to reach the relative safety of the shoulder? Aside from that, is there enough pedestrian infrastructure in that area? And what about street lighting? That’s not even taking into account the state of the vehicles that struck him. Were their lights working properly? Were they equipped with any kind of pedestrian detection systems that might have failed at that critical moment? Honestly, I could go on and on.

If, for whatever reason, the authorities seem to be shortsighted in their investigation, a third party investigation can always step in to take up that slack. After all, the people left behind by Mr. Jackson deserve to have a clear and detailed picture of how and why this accident occurred. Vague assumptions based on surface-level investigation just won’t cut it.
