How Did This Accident Occur?
In my experience, single-vehicle accidents are seldom as simple as they may appear. This crash involves a relatively new Ford F-150 that drove off the road in the middle of the afternoon. Maybe the driver was distracted or maybe the pickup had some kind of mechanical issue that contributed to the crash. The only way to know for sure is to wait until a full investigation is completed.
I expect investigators to review evidence from the scene, data from the pickup’s engine control module and any available witness statements, but the family affected by this crash may need to engage an independent expert if a mechanical examination of the vehicle is required. Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such exams.
