Accident Report
February 14, 2026, Adan Gonzalez was injured due to a single-car accident shortly after 5:45 p.m. along Maple Street.
According to authorities, 41-year-old Adan Gonzalez was traveling in a northbound Toyota Sienna minivan on Maple Street near the Carriage Hills Parkway intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Sienna failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a fence.
Gonzalez reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the wreck. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
When the vast majority of people see an accident report like this one, they understand “failure to maintain lane of travel” as the cause of a wreck. However, after looking at hundreds of car accidents in my three-decade-long career in this field, I know that veering from a lane is not a cause, but an effect. The question is, what caused the vehicle to leave its lane?
It could have been any number of things, from driver fatigue or inattention, to steering or brake malfunction, to tire failure. Honestly the list goes on and on. You can let me know in the comments whether or not you agree with me, but I hope investigators look further into this accident and find out what it was that actually led the van to veer out of its lane and crash.
