How Did This Accident Occur?
As is often the case shortly after an accident involving two commercial vehicles, there is more that we don’t know than we do know right now.
At this point, all we know if a semi-truck crash reportedly knocked a worker from the bucket of a boom lift truck. But we don’t know if the boom lift was parked on the shoulder or in the street? Or whether there were proper warnings signs to alert drivers to the work zone? Or whether the truck driver was distracted, fatigued or rushing to meet a deadline? Or even if a dispatcher routed the truck into an area where commercial traffic is not supposed to be?
These are the things that should be considered in a thorough investigation, either by the police or an independent third party. Do you agree?
