Harris County, TX — January 17, 2026, Julio Calero Ramirez was killed and one was injured following a car accident around 1:30 a.m. along Tomball Parkway.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened in the area of Jones Road, northwest of Houston.
According to officials, 25-year-old Julio Calero Ramirez was in a Chevy Equinox traveling northbound on Tomball Parkway. A GMC Terrain was going southbound. The vehicles collided head-on along southbound lanes. Due to this, Julio Calero Ramirez reportedly sustained fatal injuries.
The GMC driver had unspecified injuries due to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.

Part of that means following up with the authorities early on. If it seems they’re working to address the family’s concerns and give a fair look at all possible contributing factors, that’s a good sign. But if it seems like authorities themselves are jumping to conclusions and not looking into why this all happened, independent investigators may need to step in to get the full story.
