Freestone County, TX — December 7, 2025, Ty Rawls was injured as the result of a car accident at around 12:21 a.m. along Farm-to-Market 80.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of FM 80 and County Road 795, west of Buffalo and Jewett.
Investigators said that 26-year-old Ty Rawls was in a Dodge Ram pickup going northeast along FM 80. The vehicle somehow crashed along the roadway, and Ty Rawls reportedly sustained serious injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

With any single-vehicle accident, it’s important to know that investigators have looked into all possible contributing factors. Throughout my career, I’ve seen too many similar accidents where departments treated a wreck like this as a low priority. As a result, officers lacked the time and tools needed to do a proper accident reconstruction. If authorities have been able to address the concerns of the victim and their loved ones, then that would be good to hear. But if there are still unanswered questions here, that wouldn’t be too surprising.
