Even more challenging, there isn’t always a guarantee that authorities will be thorough behind the scenes. After all, they tend to prioritize looking for something or someone to blame—not doing an exhaustive accident reconstruction. That’s why I always tell folks it’s helpful to be reasonably skeptical. If authorities can provide clear evidence and show they looked at a crash from all angles, that’s good.
