Brownwood, TX — March 21, 2025, Brittany Cook was injured following a single-car accident at approximately 1:00 p.m. along Farm to Market 3100.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Brittany Cook was traveling in a northeast bound Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck on F.M. 3100 in the vicinity northeast of the County Road 369 intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup truck failed to appropriately control its speed. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a fence and overturned.
Cook reportedly suffered serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When a vehicle overturns and causes serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash, people often jump to the conclusion that the driver was simply speeding or lost control. But in my experience, especially with rural road incidents like this one on F.M. 3100 near County Road 369, the truth is usually more complicated. To fully understand what happened to Brittany Cook and whether her injuries could have been prevented, there are three important questions that should be asked.
First, did the authorities conduct a thorough investigation of the scene? Roads like Farm to Market 3100 may have inconsistent signage, sudden curves, or narrow shoulders—any of which can contribute to a vehicle leaving the roadway, particularly if the driver is unfamiliar with the area. Investigators should examine the road’s condition, any skid marks or debris patterns, and whether the fence Cook’s vehicle struck was close to the travel lane. If those environmental factors weren’t fully considered, a second look may be necessary to determine how and why the vehicle overturned.
Second, has anyone looked into whether a mechanical failure contributed to the crash? A vehicle that veers off the road unexpectedly or becomes unstable might be dealing with issues involving the steering system, brakes, suspension, or even a tire blowout—especially in a high-center-of-gravity vehicle like a Dodge Ram 2500. These kinds of failures require a forensic examination of the vehicle, and that’s only possible if the truck is preserved in the condition it was in following the crash.
Lastly, has all of the vehicle’s electronic data been collected? The Dodge Ram 2500 is likely equipped with an event data recorder that could provide critical pre-crash information: speed, brake application, throttle use, and steering input. That data can help determine whether the vehicle responded properly to driver input or if something went wrong mechanically. Additionally, GPS logs or nearby surveillance footage—if available—could help clarify the timeline and conditions surrounding the crash. As always, this kind of evidence is time-sensitive and should be secured as quickly as possible.
When someone is seriously hurt in a rollover crash and the cause isn’t clearly established, assumptions don’t bring closure. Asking these questions is the least that can be done to ensure that those affected by this crash get the clarity and closure they deserve.
