Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With single-vehicle wrecks, it’s important to consider whether or not investigators actually looked into all possible factors. It might surprise people to see how often families call us about similar crashes where authorities all but moved on after barely scratching the surface. The reality is these accidents are rarely considered a high priority by departments, so unless they have a more dedicated accident reconstruction team, details can slip through the cracks.

Independent accident reconstructionists can help fill those gaps and catch details authorities overlook, but that’s something that typically relies on victims and families seeking out alternative avenues to get the answers they need when they find authorities aren’t giving them a satisfactory explanation of what went wrong. Perhaps authorities here have been more thorough than information I’ve seen, but it wouldn’t be unusual if there was still a lot more to this story than even the authorities may know.
