Port Arthur, TX — July 14, 2025, Xavier Lopez was injured as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 2:28 a.m. along 9th Avenue.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 31st Street.
Investigators said that 32-year-old Xavier Lopez was on a Honda motorcycle going northbound on 9th Avenue. At 31st Street, a southbound vehicle reportedly failed to yield making a left turn, and the vehicles collided.
Due to the collision, Xavier Lopez was seriously injured. One person in the other vehicle had non-serious injuries. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

As straight-forward as these reports seem, motorcycle accidents always raise unique concerns. A lot of people are already biased against motorcyclists, and insurance companies often try to use this to their advantage. They know if they try to paint the motorcyclist as a reckless driver, people are more likely to believe them even without evidence.
That’s why it’s so important that victims have as much evidence telling their side of the story as possible. Negative bias is a hurdle, but it can be overcome through clear communication of the facts.
