Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If authorities have the right driver here, there can at least be steps to ensure there’s accountability for what happened. However, that may require more than just charges for that driver allegedly leaving the scene of the crash. In my experience, drivers flee an accident scene because there was something specific they didn’t want police to know about. For example, they may have been drunk, been in possession of illegal substances, or had warrants. Either way, a victim’s loved ones deserve to see appropriate consequences after an accident like this. So if there are other factors surrounding this accident yet to be addressed, there may need to be further investigations.
