Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With a single-vehicle wreck like this, there’s rarely a complete picture following the crash. Frankly, they’re not always taken seriously by authorities. While some departments make sure to devote time and resources to getting the families answers, others are quick to move on without asking serious questions about what may have happened.

Did a tire blow out? Was there something in the road? Did the driver experience a medical emergency? Were they unlawfully over-served by a bar? Did the vehicle have any defects? Was there another reckless driver involved who fled the scene? Does this stretch of road see an unusually high number of accidents? Likely or not, these questions need to be answered. Otherwise, it can leave families wondering whether or not they’re actually getting the truth about what happened.
