Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Authorities allege that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They haven’t said is where that alcohol may have come from, and that can be a crucial detail after someone is hurt in a serious accident. Texas law says negligent alcohol providers may be liable if their over-service leads to people being killed or injured. A lot of people think the only path forward for them is to a driver face charges, but there could be much more to the story than that. It’s simply a matter of whether or not anyone is actually investigating those other possible avenues.
