Houston, TX — January 14, 2024, Tyriq Mosley Smith was killed in a pedestrian versus car accident shortly after 1:30 a.m. along West Loop North Freeway.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Tyriq Mosley Smith was traveling in a southbound Nissan Sentra in the vicinity north of Old Katy Road when he allegedly asked the driver to pull over due to an argument.
When the Nissan pulled over, officials indicate that Smith got out of the car and attempted to cross the active lanes of the freeway on foot. As a result, Smith was reportedly struck by a southbound Mercedes-Benz. He was declared deceased at the scene of the accident due to the injuries he incurred as a result of the crash.
