Polk County, TX — December 28, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident shortly before 12:30 in the afternoon along Farm to Market 1276.
According to reports, a 62-year-old man was traveling in a northbound 18-wheeler hauling a trailer loaded with logs on F.M. 1276 in the area a little more than half of a mile south of the Moore Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the trailer that was in tow behind the 18-wheeler reportedly broke in half in an area where there was a left-hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle then overturned onto its left side and lost its load. The 18-wheeler and its trailer came to rest blocking both lanes of the roadway. The 62-year-old sole occupant of the vehicle reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been clear and dry. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time.
