McKinney, TX — January 7, 2024, two people were injured in a truck accident at approximately 1:30 a.m. along U.S. Highway 75.
According to reports, two women—one age 37 and the other age 36—were traveling in a northbound Jeep Wrangler on U.S. Highway 75 in the vicinity north of the Parkview Avenue overpass when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that the Jeep, which had been traveling in the second-from-the-right lane, attempted to merge into the right-hand lane in preparation to exit at an unsafe time. This resulted in a rear-end collision with the trailer of an 18-wheeler which had been traveling in the right-hand lane. The jeep was allegedly wedged beneath the trailer for a time and caught fire before both vehicles came to a stop.
The 36-year-old woman from the Jeep reportedly incurred moderate injuries as a result of the accident, while the 37-year-old woman incurred suspected severe injuries. They were both transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
