Houston, TX — October 15, 2024, Tommy Federico, Helen Drury, and a 5-year-old girl were killed in a traffic accident on Highway 17 near Houston.
Authorities say the incident began Tuesday afternoon on southbound Highway 17 near Roubidoux Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Federico was driving a Lincoln car south on the highway when he allegedly lost control for unknown reasons. The car veered off the road, then swerved back onto the pavement and entered a side-skid. It reportedly crossed left of center and collided head-on with a northbound Ford pickup driven by 26-year-old John Raney.
Federico and his passengers Drury and the 5-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene. Two more passengers, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy, were transported to area hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. Raney’s condition was not reported.
The investigation is ongoing. No further details are currently available.
