Accident Report

Fort Bend County, TX — March 15, 2026, three people were killed and three others were injured in a car accident at about 9 a.m. on U.S. Highway 90 Alternate.

Authorities said a westbound pickup lost control and went through the median, crashing head-on with an eastbound SUV between Harlem Road and Pitts Road.

Three people in the SUV — a 19-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 44-year-old woman — were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Richmond, according to authorities, while a 14-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The pickup driver, 20, was seriously injured as well, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Fort Bend County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.

How Did This Accident Occur?

In my experience, “lost control” is law enforcement jargon for nobody knows what happened. That’s OK for now, but the ongoing investigation definitely needs to turn up some answers for those affected by this crash.

At this point, we don’t even know what kind of vehicles were involved in this crash. Was the pickup a recent model or an older one? Did the pickup have some sort of manufacturer’s defect that caused it to cross into oncoming traffic? Or did some recent maintenance fail to keep the truck operating properly?

These are among the questions that investigators must address as they dig into evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles involved, witness statements and any available traffic or dashcam footage to reconstruct this crash.
