Temple, TX — August 30, 2024, Thomas Needles was killed following a single-vehicle accident at approximately 8:00 a.m. along South 9th Street.
According to authorities, the accident took place on South 9th Street between West Avenue U and West Avenue V.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the vehicle in which 30-year-old Thomas Needles was traveling failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off of the side of the road and crashed into a parked car and a house, both of which were apparently empty at the time. The wreck caused the house to catch on fire, according to preliminary reports.
Needles suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
