Dallas, TX — April 16, 2024, Sylvia Okechukwu and two others were injured in a car accident at approximately 8:00 p.m. along Abrams Road.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Sylvia Okechukwu, a 31-year-old man, and a 3-year-old child were traveling in a southbound Honda Accord along Abrams Avenue at the Lakeshore Drive intersection when the accident took place.
At the same time, a northbound Ford F-150 on Abrams Avenue was reportedly attempting a left turn onto westbound Lakeshore Drive. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck attempted the turn at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming southbound traffic. This resulted in a collision between the front-right corner of the pickup truck and the front-left of the Honda Accord.
Okechukwu suffered reportedly severe injuries due to the wreck. The other two occupants of the Honda sustained apparently moderate injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
The weather and road conditions in the area at that time were reported to have been rainy and wet. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point. The investigation is currently ongoing.
