Houston, TX — January 2, 2024, Sula Waswa was injured in a hit-and-run car pedestrian versus car accident shortly before 9:45 p.m. along Hillcroft Avenue.
According to authorities, the accident took place on Hillcroft Avenue in the vicinity just south of the Skyline Drive intersection.
38-year-old Sula Waswa, who had been crossing Hillcroft Avenue on foot was reportedly struck by a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla left the scene of the accident without stopping to render aid of any kind; however, authorities say they found the suspect driver not long after. Waswa incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the incident. He was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
Details from Harris County officials show that there are pending charges for the alleged runaway driver. No further information can be confirmed right now.
