Johnson County, TX — May 15, 2024, Sonia Prince and one other person were injured in a car accident at approximately 3:00 p.m. along State Highway 171.
According to authorities, 60-year-old Sonia Prince was traveling in a southwest bound Toyota Highlander SUV on S.H. 171 in the vicinity south of C.R. 1128 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northwest bound GMC Jimmy SUV on S.H. 171 attempted a left turn into a parking lot at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic. This resulted in a collision between the two vehicles.
Both the man from the GMC and Prince suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
