El Paso, TX — February 24, 2024, two people were injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 1:00 a.m. along East Redd Road.
Authorities said in preliminary investigations that the crash happened at East Redd Road and Arredondo Drive, just off Resler Drive.

Initial details say that a 29-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were in a Volvo XC70 going westbound along Redd Road. The vehicle apparently ran off the right side of the road where it then crashed into a rock wall at an AT&T store. As a result, the man in the vehicle had serious injuries while the woman’s injuries were reportedly moderate.
Currently, further information can’t be confirmed.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
As much as people like to jump to conclusions after single vehicle wrecks, it’s important to remember that early reports can miss all kinds of important details. Things like mechanical defects, medical conditions, poor road design or maintenance, hit-and-runs, and other such unavoidable factors can be challenging to investigate. If authorities even have the tools and experience to investigate them, it’s rare they do so on the first pass.
Of course, driver error is the most common explanation, and I wouldn’t suggest ignoring that. Even then, though, there can be extenuating circumstances. For example, a single-vehicle wreck we got a call about recently turned out to involve a negligent alcohol provider who illegally over-served the driver, making them responsible for contributing to the accident. That’s something authorities overlooked entirely. I’m not saying that happened here, but it’s unlikely these statements are telling the whole story. It’s best to just let the evidence speak for itself.
