Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

A commercial truck wreck is inevitably going to bring on significant challenges that require careful, thorough investigations. What folks need to be aware of is whether or not authorities are taking steps to give the crash the attention it deserves. A lot of the time, authorities end up moving on before they’ve actually looked at all possible factors. This could be due to a lack of time, a lack of manpower, or a lack of proper equipment. Whatever the situation, that means important evidence could slip through the cracks.

This is why a lot of folks seek out independent investigators. In my experience handling hundreds of commercial vehicle accident cases, independent investigators are generally more reliable and more efficient. They can rule out anything from road hazards to vehicle defects to distracted driving to maintenance-related issues. Likely or not, it’s important victims and families know all possibilities are getting attention. Whatever path lies ahead for them, having as much evidence as possible will help them navigate it.
