Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to pedestrian accidents, a lot of people will simply jump to conclusions. They think it all comes down to who had the right-of-way. In reality, there are plenty of other potential factors to consider. Was this a symptom of poor road design? Is there a lack of signage and lighting? Was alcohol or a medical condition involved? Was there some kind of emergency? Likely or not, there’s a family out there that deserves answers. If steps aren’t taken to let the evidence speak for itself, then that’s a sign there may need to be more thorough independent investigations.
