San Jacinto, TX — July 21, 2023, Schevie Slayden was fatally injured due to an alleged intoxicated driving accident at around 9:24 p.m. along Highway 156.
Authorities released information which shows the fatal incident happened in the area of Highway 156 and Cedar Lodge Road.
According to officials, 37-year-old Schevie Lafayette Slayden was on a Harley-Davidson that was going northbound along Highway 156. While doing so, a pickup also traveling northbound reportedly failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the motorcycle, throwing Slayden to the ground.
Slayden sustained injuries which proved to be fatal. It appears there were no other injuries. At this time, details show authorities believe that the pickup driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. There were recommendations for intoxication manslaughter charges, though the status of these potential charges is unconfirmed at this time.
