Corpus Christi, TX — April 13, 2022, Rene Jimenez and Joseph Rivas Rodriguez were killed due to a work accident at 4:00 p.m. off Hathor Drive.
Preliminary details about the accident say that it happened in the 7000 block of Hathor Drive just off McArdle Road. The company involved was identified in the OSHA report as Alvarez Tunneling & Roofing Inc. The company appears to be based out of Corpus Christi.
According to statements from investigators, 41-year-old Rene Jimenez and 41-year-old Joseph Rivas Rodriguez were doing excavation work at the time. The project was at a residence for plumbing purposes. Somehow, the two workers were electrically shocked and succumbed to fatal injuries. OSHA authorities listed two alleged rule violations they looked into . They also listed an apparent penalty that amounted to just over $8,000.
