UPDATE (April 19, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what occurred leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, 35-year-old Raquel Mondragon Aguirre was on foot in the center lane of northbound I.H. 35 in the vicinity north of Walnut Hill Lane for unknown reasons. A northbound Kia Soul reportedly attempted to avoid a collision with Aguirre, but was ultimately unable to do so; the front-left of the Soul collided with the victim, throwing Aguirre into the far left lane of the highway. Officials state that Aguirre was possibly struck by several other vehicles following that initial collision; however, only the Kia stopped and remained at the scene.
Dallas, TX — April 7, 2024, one person was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident shortly before 3:00 a.m. along I.H. 35.
According to authorities, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate Highway 35 in the vicinity between Royal Lane and Walnut Hill Lane.
The causal factors that led to the accident remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle. The victim incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result.
