Abilene, TX — July 19, 2023, Rachel Butler was fatally injured as the result of a car accident at around 5:46 a.m. along South First Street.
Authorities with the Abilene Police Department said that the crash happened along the 4500 block of South First Street, just off Pioneer Drive and the freeway.
According to current information, 44-year-old Rachel Butler was walking at the time and was reportedly in the eastbound lane of travel. There, it appears a GMC truck hit Butler, then somehow collided with three other vehicles.
As a result of the collision, Butler was fatally injured. It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt in the collisions. Authorities have not released any additional details about the crash. Investigations are ongoing at this time.
