Austin, TX — June 24, 2025, a man was injured following a train versus pedestrian accident at around 5:00 a.m. along Cherrywood Road.

People tend to immediately write off train accidents. After all, it’s not like trains can veer out of their lane or fail to yield. However, it’s important to always leave room for the possibility something unusual happened. There may have been an issue with the crossing signal or the gate arms not working. This could be an area that’s dangerous for pedestrians which needs to be redesigned. Something external, like alcohol or a medical condition, may have been involved. It’s ultimately up to the evidence to say, so it’s best to avoid jumping to conclusions.
