Gallatin County, KY — January 4, 2023, a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a commercial truck around 6 p.m. on I-71 in Gallatin County.

According to officials, the crash occurred at the Boone-Gallatin County line near mile marker 74. The pedestrian was reportedly struck by a semi-truck and then air-lifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not released what direction the semi-truck was traveling, or what factors led up to the crash.
