Houston, TX — September 25, 2024, a pedestrian was injured after an alleged drunk driver accident at 7:51 p.m. on Clinton Drive.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the area of the Clinton Drive and Lockwood Drive intersection.

According to officials, a 71-year-old man was on foot on the sidewalk along Clinton Drive. While there, a Chevy Tahoe going eastbound lost control and ran off-road. It crashed into a pole, then struck the pedestrian. As a result, the pedestrian was seriously injured. The driver is accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Being on the road is dangerous enough when drunk drivers are about, but it’s truly a shame when someone can’t even be on the sidewalk without being at risk. That’s why people are always so keep to see there are consequences after drunk driving accidents. Those consequences, however, don’t just begin and end with the alleged drunk driver.
Too often, authorities overlook the possibility that a driver may have been negligently over-served by an alcohol provider, such as a bar or restaurant. There are multiple legal avenues to see they’re held accountable, such as through criminal investigations, fines, or civil liability for the injuries their actions led to. So if folks really do want to see consequences for an accident like this, it’s important to hold authorities to a higher standard and make sure they’re looking into all possible angles.
