Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People might see authorities reporting the victim wasn’t in a crosswalk and assume that makes everything open-and-shut. Whether or not someone is in a crosswalk is obviously important, but it’s not the end-all-be-all of responsibility for an accident. Ultimately, there still needs to be consideration for the evidence and the full circumstances leading to the collision. If authorities move on too quickly, they might miss something important.
