Delta County, TX — May 23, 2023, Patsy Couch and John Couch were injured by an alleged drunk driver around 10:46 a.m. on Hwy. 24 in Delta County.
Sources report the victims were heading northwest on Hwy. 24 in a Toyota Rav4 in the inside, left lane when a northbound Chevy Tahoe allegedly failed to control its speed and rear-ended the Rav4.
The impact reportedly forced the Rav4 to rotate counter-clockwise, slide sideways across the grassy median, enter into a rollover accident that carried the vehicle across all of the southbound lanes, and finally collide with a phone box. The Rav4 purportedly came to a stop on its passenger side facing southeast.
After the collision, the Tahoe reportedly continued forward drifting right toward its driver-side into the grassy median. The vehicle reported came to a stop facing north.
Both Patsy Couch and John Couch purportedly suffered incapacitating injuries and were transported to a hospital.
Police recommended charging the Tahoe driver with Intoxication Assault.
