Nacogdoches County, TX — July 13, 2023, Paola Rojas Rondon was killed and Carlos Gulloso-Mendez and Alejandro Bolano Casanova were injured in a tanker accident on U.S. 59.
Authorities said that the crash took place along hte highway just outside of Nacogdoches. Details at this time suggest that 22-year-old Paola Rojas Rondon, 24-year-old Carlos Gulloso-Mendez, and 26-year-old Alejandro Bolano Casanova were in a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling along U.S. 59. While the vehicle was making a u-turn, it appears that a semi-tanker crashed into the Hyundai.
Due to the crash, Rojas Rondon succumbed to fatal injuries. Gulloso-Mendez and Bolano Casanova were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not specified. Two people from the truck, identified as 57-year-old Terry Farris and 43-year-old John Mottet, also sustained injuries.
Currently, further information about factors surrounding the accident are unavailable. The crash remains under investigations.
