Accident Report

Duncanville, TX — September 3, 2026, Kenan Ellis was killed and two others were injured in a wrong-way accident at about 11 p.m. on S.G. Alexander Freeway/U.S. Highway 67.

Authorities said a 2023 Audi A5 was going north in the southbound lanes near Danieldale Road when it collided with two other vehicles, a 2025 Nissan Altima and a 2015 Dodge Challenger.

Kenan Ellis, a 29-year-old passenger in the Nissan, died from injuries suffered in the crash, while two of his cousins were hospitalized with serious injuries, according to authorities. Their names have not been made public yet.

The driver of the Dodge was not injured, authorities said.

The wrong-way driver, who allegedly was driving a car that had been reported stolen in Irving, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, according to authorities.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Dallas County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Police likely will handle this accident investigation like any other fatal crash, but I hope they expand their probe if blood tests confirm the wrong-way driver was intoxicated. They should try to figure out where the driver had been drinking before getting behind the wheel.
