Accident Report

Round Rock, TX — February 18, 2026, a pedestrian was injured in a suspected drunk driver accident at about 9:15 p.m. on A.W. Grimes Boulevard.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox was heading north when it hit a pedestrian while crossing under State Highway 45.

The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man who had been using a motorized conveyance, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.

The Chevrolet driver, who was not injured, is suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the crash, the report states, but he is not facing any charges at this time.

Authorities have not released any additional information at the Williamson County crash.

How Did This Accident Occur?

At this point, we don’t know if there is anything the Chevrolet driver could have done to avoid this collision, but implication that he was intoxicated at the time of the crash raises other questions.

If the driver was intoxicated, as authorities suspect, then investigators should look beyond the crash scene to determine where he had been drinking.

Texas law makes bars or other alcohol providers for injuries caused by someone who was served while visibly intoxicated. We don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but dram shop law allows victims and their families to look into whether someone other than the driver is responsible for this crash.
