How Did This Accident Occur?
This crash, as reported, is an example of the kind of possibility that I often suggest when details are scarce in the immediate aftermath of an accident. In my experience, it is important to consider all possibilities when trying to figure out how an accident happened.
Investigators should check traffic cams in the area to see if there is evidence of another vehicle, or maybe the vehicle that crashed into the sign had a dashcam. They also should look into whether a vehicle defect or other factors contributed to crash.
There is no substitute for a complete investigation. Did you see anything that could help?
