Weatherford, TX — November 5, 2025, Nakaya Cooper was injured as the result of a car accident at around 9:49 p.m. along FM 920.
Officials said that the accident happened at the intersection of FM 920/Peaster Highway and Ric Williamson Memorial Highway.
According to investigators, 24-year-old Nakaya Cooper was in a Ford Focus going southwest through the intersection. A Ford F-250 was going southeast. The vehicles reportedly crossed paths at the intersection, resulting in a collision.
Due to the crash, Nakaya Cooper was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. Authorities say one of the vehicles ran the light, but they didn’t specify further.

Without more information, it’s impossible to draw a fair conclusion about what happened here. Some folks, however, may have already made up their minds. A lot of people automatically blame motorcyclists for accidents, assuming all riders are reckless daredevils. It isn’t that riders never make mistakes, but I know that most riders are safe drivers. As such, it’s important that the evidence has the final say. If authorities haven’t been careful to focus on the facts, they might allow too much room for people’s biases to take over.
