Wood County, TX — September 16, 2023, Moises Joribio was killed and Jesus Beltran was injured due to an alleged intoxicated driver accident at 3:50 p.m. on U.S. 69.

Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety say that the crash happened north of Mineola at the intersection of County Road 2260.

Moises Joribio Killed, Jesus Beltran Injured in Alleged Intoxicated Driver Accident in Wood County, TX

According to officials, 41-year-old Moises Joribio and 29-year-old Jesus Beltran were in a vehicle going northwest along the highway. Their vehicle slowed for oncoming traffic while waiting to make a left turn, authorities say. While waiting, a Ford Explorer rear-ended Joribio and Beltran.

Due to the crash, Joribio sustained fatal injuries. Beltran had injuries described as non-incapacitating. No other injuries were reported. At this time, it appears the driver of the Ford Explorer is facing a charge for intoxication manslaughter. Investigations are ongoing.
