Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

When people hear about crashes like this one, it’s easy to assume they are simply the result of driver error. However, my experience has shown that accidents involving large trucks often require thorough investigations to understand all contributing factors.

In this case, the circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation. It is essential to consider the possibility of mechanical failure, driver fatigue, or even inadequate maintenance of the vehicle involved. Each of these factors can play a significant role in accidents involving 18-wheelers.

A key point in this accident is the truck’s failure to maintain its lane, leading to a severe overcorrection and rollover. This raises questions about the driver’s experience and training, as well as the truck’s handling. Proper driver training and regular vehicle maintenance are vital to ensure that commercial trucks operate safely on the road. Any lapses in these areas could indicate negligence on the part of the trucking company or the driver.

Additionally, the trucking company responsible for the 18-wheeler may share in the responsibility for the wreck. If the company failed to enforce safety protocols, properly train their drivers, or ensure that their vehicles were in good working order, they could be held accountable for their role in the crash.

Ultimately, the goal is to uncover the truth and provide answers to those affected by the crash. Even if it requires conducting an independent investigation to obtain vital evidence, it is crucial to consider every factor to ensure that those impacted by the crash receive the clarity and closure they deserve.
