Taylor County, TX — June 6, 2024, Mary Casey and another person were killed following a car accident shortly before 4:30 p.m. along State Loop 322.
According to authorities, 62-year-old Mary Casey was traveling in a southbound BMW on State Loop 322 in the vicinity north of East Highway 80 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Ford Explorer Sport occupied by a 25-year-old man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the left, hitting a light pole as it crossed over the center median. It continued toward the left, entering the southbound lanes of the roadway. There, it was involved in a head-on collision with the oncoming BMW.
Neither Casey nor the man from the Ford survived the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
