Houston, TX — June 28, 2024, Mario Navarro Jr. was killed as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 10:50 p.m. along the Gulf Freeway.
Preliminary details about the accident say it happened along northbound lanes of Interstate 45 at the Loop 610 westbound interchange.
According to Harris County officials, Mario Navarro was the operator of a motorcycle that was going along northbound I-45. While taking the transfer to westbound Loop 610, the motorcycle collided with a barrier, causing Navarro to fall over the side. Navarro ended up along the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway, and Navarro’s sustained fatal injuries.

Regardless of what’s in preliminary reports, I always encourage folks to take any statements on a motorcycle accident with a grain of salt. Frankly, there is a lot of bias against motorcyclists, and it can lead people to jump to conclusions. Even authorities may be too quick to dismiss certain possibilities because they’d rather just blame the victim and move on. I can’t say one way or another what led to this crash, but it’s very possible that getting a clear, unbiased account of what happened might require efforts beyond a typical police investigation.
