Pasadena, TX — July 14, 2025, Marcus Blanco was killed as the result of a car accident that happened around 9:45 p.m. along Washington Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it took place off the corner of Washington Street and Preston Avenue.
Investigators said that 22-year-old Marcus Rene Blanco was on a scooter going along Washington Street at the time. An oncoming vehicle reportedly was making a left turn into a private driveway. As a result, the vehicles collided.
Marcus Blanco sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. No other injuries were reported. Authorities reportedly cited the other driver for failure to yield.

People often see citations and assume that makes an accident open-and-shut. But investigations need to be thorough enough to rule out even unlikely possible factors. Road conditions, vehicle defects, drugs and alcohol, poor lighting ore signage, etc. It’s possible nothing unusual happened here. It’s also possible there were extenuating circumstances that preliminary investigations alone won’t be able to address. At the end of the day, the priority should be ensuring the victim’s loved ones are certain they’re getting the full story.
