If the allegations here are true, did authorities look into where the allegedly drunk driver got their alcohol? A lot of these early-morning drunk driving accidents involve drivers who were illegally over-served by a bar. Considering people rightfully want to see consequences after crashes like this, it’s important to know those alcohol providers can be held accountable for their role in the crash, as well.
Simply put, if an alcohol provider over-serves someone, and that leads to people getting hurt, the alcohol provider can potentially expose itself to criminal investigations, liability for the resulting injuries, and fines and license suspensions from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Despite all of these potential avenues, countless families affected by crashes like this who call our firm never heard the authorities even mention the possibility of a negligent bar. It was only after seeing the results of our investigations they learned how reckless some of these providers are and how important it is they face consequences before their behavior harms someone else.
Is this another situation where authorities are letting a negligent bar off the hook, or have they taken steps behind the scenes to see all responsible parties held accountable?
